Slow & Steady….. Get’s the Job DONE!

It is not all about how fast you get something done. Nor does it matter how quickly you reach the point of completion.

Speaking in terms of a project which you may be working on, rather it be a new book, a song you are recording or even a new website that you are launching; when it comes to getting it done, taking your time may be the best course of action.

I have been caught up in the world of getting task done as quickly as possible, in order to begin receiving the benefits of my completed work.

Yet, what good is it to race through a task, if you are not putting in the best that you have to offer. Sure, having a finished product is the best feeling in the world. What is even better is to sit back and see that you took your time and poured your highest energy into your work. Having given your best and nothing less.

The turtle was on to something. Not only does he take his time to get to where he is going. But he also gets to the same destination, that the rabbit does, without stepping outside of his true nature, of moving slowly. The end result is the same. The turtle was able to move at his own pace, and still make it to the end.

Not to fault the rabbit. It just was in the rabbit’s nature to move faster. In a physical sense. The analogy is just used in comparison to show that the two can do the same task, in whichever way they seem fit and reach the same results, in the end.

Take YOUR time. Do not feel pressured to move faster or against a clock which someone else has set for you. Put your all into your work and when you feel it is ready, then it is READY.

  1. It is so true I love that your used the tortoise and hare as an example. In the Chinese zodiac I am a rabbit and have always been a quick mover, which is kind of funny when you think about it, but your are right it does not mean that you you always win the race.

  2. I needed this reminder today. Just because someone else can complete a task faster, doesn’t necessarily mean that I should.
